Arsenal Star, Mesut Özil’s agent, Dr. Erkut Sogut, has advised GFA President, Kurt Okraku to draw  up a long-term football development and investment plan  to enable Ghana  win the World Cup.

Dr. Erkut Sogut is in Ghana as part of a two-day visit following an invitation from Director of International Relations at Tudu Mighty Jets, Daniel Larbi Akowuah.

Speaking with some Arsenal fans in Madina, Mr. Sogut, noted that Ghana has talents and  therefore capable of winning the World Cup.

“This country has  so much potential; I’m representing a Ghanaian player at Germany. You guys are so talented and if a Ghanaian player in Germany gets the right education and right academic opportunities he becomes a big football player…and if the football players will have the same opportunities here, then you should win the World Cup, but it’s a long term commitment, long term investment and you need to be patient and that’s what we don’t have. We want to be successful tomorrow, that shouldn’t be it,” he said.

“We need to have approximately 8 to 10 years plan and say in 10 years, we want to have a golden generation. Every football club has to be the same, every academy has to be the same, we have to educate everyone, you have to wait for it. I think that’s the kind of solution we need,”  the football agent told Atinka FM.

He urged the GFA to improve the infrastructure with respect to Ghana’s football to help the rapid growth of our football.
