The Minister for Gender Children and Social Protection,  and Member of Parliament for Dome- Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has condemned the murder of a 10-year old boy in Kasoa.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17 respectively, on Saturday, April 3, 2021 allegedly murdered a 10-year old boy in lamptey Mills a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

It took the timely intervention of the Police to stop eyewitnesses who had attempted to lynch the two boys.

The teenagers are currently in police custody and expected to appear before court Today April 6th 2021.

Reacting to the issue, Minister for Gender Children and Social Protection,  Sarah Adwoa Safo in a statement noted that the act by the teenagers is an indication of the reality where the youth would go every extent to live luxuriously without putting in any hard work.

The act, according to the lawmaker,  is a wake up call to all Ghanaians to teach the younger ones that there is dignity in hard work and that it comes with a lot of benefits.

She also extended her condolences to the parents of the deceased and assured them of her outmost support.

Meanwhile, the father of the deceased, Frank Mensah Abdullah wants a life in prison sentence for the accused persons.

He revealed that although he does not have the mandate to sentence the killers of his son, he would be grateful if the court placed a life sentence on the killers of his son.

“One of the kids who did that is my sons best friend and I still cannot fathom why he would hurt my son. I am not a judge but it is my prayer that justice is served. I want the boys to be jailed for life”, Mr. Abdallah told host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.
