Foreign company evades GHC5 M tax; owner on the run

A Nigerian- owned company owes the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) an amount of GH5 million.

GRA says the amount comprises VAT, payee tax, rent tax and penalties and that efforts to reclaim the debts owed GRA from Ace Façade have been fruitless.

The GRA says, the amount dates back to 2014.

Rev. John Yaw  Buabeng, Chief Revenue Officer of the GRA who made the revelation to the press, said all offices of  Ace Façade have been locked.

Further investigations revealed, the company  undertaking the construction of a high-rise building owned by Allied Oil at Dzorwulu.

However, upon reaching the site, the GRA found out that the contractor (Ace Facade) haD terminated the contract and absconded.

The GRA has served Allied Oil with a garnishment order to direct all monies owed Ace Facade to the GRA.
