The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has received an amount of GHC100,000 from Euroget Group as support towards the upcoming Ghana Journalists Awards which comes off on November 23, 2019.
The 24th edition of the Awards which will be held at Kenpinski Hotel is to climax a number of activities of GJA’s 70th Anniversary.
Speaking before receiving the cheque, the President of the Association, Mr Rolland Affail Monney stated that while the media will be used to expose fraudulent business men, women and companies in the country, it will also support those who are helping to develop the country.
Mr Affail Monney who expressed gratitude to the CEO of Euroget Group was amazed at the speed at which he responded to the GJA’s request for his support towards the awards.
According to him, the money will be used to support the Gold Category of the Awards come November 23, 2019.
He pledged the GJA’s support to Euroget Group in its quest to thrive.
For his part, the CEO of Euroget Group, Dr Said Deraz, also said the company intends to invest in agriculture in Ghana, noting that Ghana had a fertile land and water for agriculture.
He also acknowledged the importance of the media in doing business, assuring his continuous support for the Ghanaian media when needed.
The Euroget Group is a group of companies that operates Gold Refinery and Investment and Construction companies, as well as a Banking and Financial Service in Ghana and other countries including Spain and Morocco.
Some of projects Euroget Group, has constructed in Ghana over the years include the Wa Hospital and the Madina Hospital.
