EC urges Ghanaians to take exhibition of voters' register seriously

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensa has urged all Ghanaians who took part in the new voters’ registration exercise to participate in the voter register exhibition exercise which begins on Friday 18th to 25th September, 2020.

The exercise will be held from 7.am to 6 p.m each day including weekends.

This was made known by the EC Chair at the “let the Citizens Know” series held in Accra today.

She noticed that people over the years have taken the exercise for granted.

She stated that the exhibition exercise is an important aspect and therefore it is important that voters take their time to check their details.

The EC chair explaining the importance of the exhibition exercise, said it affords prospective voters to verify the accuracy of their details among others.

She said persons who flout the registration rules during the compilation of the new voters register cannot vote during the upcoming elections.

According to her, those who engaged in double registration and those who are not Ghanaians but took part in the exercise would not be allowed to vote.
