EC recruits 44,000 officers to undertake registration exercise

 
Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, has disclosed that the commission has recruited about 44, 000 personnel to undertake this year’s registration exercise across the 16 regions of the country.
The EC boss has also promised a smooth registration exercise, adding that applicants at the centers will not take more than 10 minutes to register.
Madam Mensa She has also given the assurance that the commission will do everything possible to ensure that the will of the people prevails in this year’s election.
Addressing Ghanaians on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s voters’ registration exercise, the EC Chair said the process will be conducted in a very transparent manner, paving the way for credible elections   on December 7.
Addressing concerns over the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Madam Mensah gave the assurance that all the hygiene and social distancing protocols will be duly observed during the entire process
According to her, all applicants will be required to wash their hands thoroughly before joining the registration exercise, adding that “Veronica Buckets” and hand sanitisers will be available at all registration centers to curtail spread of the virus
