Members of the alleged militia group, DE-eye, says the video which has gone viral on social media was one of the numerous job interaction parades they had at the Osu Castle.

Joy News’ Manasseh Azure's investigative piece, The Militia in the Heart of the Nation”, revealed that members of the alleged militia group were being trained at an important state facility classified as a security zone.

The group has reportedly been meeting at the facility for close to two years.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, a member of De-Eye group, Akosua Essah, explained that the group is a job recruiting agency which organizes meetings with CEOs and managers of potential employees.

She added that it was possible the recording presented by Joy News’ Manasseh Azure was done at one of those meetings. According to Akosua, De-Eye group is not associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as purported.

“We are not a militia group neither are we a vigilante group. This is a recruiting agency which organizes talks and training with owners of private companies who have vacant positions in their outfits. We have members who have been placed in vacant positions in companies across the country,” she added.

A medical Sonographer and a Member of De-Eye group, Joshua Addai Frimpong, who also spoke to Ekourba Gyasi on the morning show stated that De-Eye group is made up of professionals like himself who are in dire need of jobs.

“We all know the issue of jobs in this country, we came to your studio this morning with our certificates. I am a medical Sonographer, my sister Akosua here is a nurse, Felicia is a banking and financial expert. We have a common interest which is “job”; that is why we are part of De-Eye group to look for jobs and not to train for any vigilante group or militia group. DE-eye is not a militia group,” he stated.
