COVID-19: We shall ensure the safety of your children – Akufo-Addo to parents

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured parents whose children will be going to school amidst the COVID-19 pandemic that government has put in place measures to ensure the children are safe while going to school.
Although tertiary students in their final year and the final year senior high school students have resumed school, over 70,000 final year students of Junior high schools will also resume tomorrow.
Addressing the Nation during his 13th update of measures taken to stop the spread  of coronavirus in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo said government has secured reasonable number of Personal Protective equipment (PPE) that will be shared amongst all the final year school children to protect them from contracting the virus.
He also stated that there will be training for teachers on how to stop or prevent themselves and the children from being infected.
President Akufo-Addo reiterated that the students will start school from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. without breaks, adding that assemblies and all football activities shall not take place.
He therefore urged parents to be terrified about the safety of their wards, stating that government will not put them at risk.
