Popular spare parts dealer, "Great Kofata" donates GHS100,000 to Covid-19 Fund

A private businessman and Managing Director of KOFATA Motors, a spare parts dealer shop at Abossey Okai in Accra, Mr Emmanuel Bright Obeng Nyarko popularly known as Great Kofata, has donated an amount of (GHc 100, 000.00) to the Government’s Covid-19 Trust  Fund.
The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo announced the establishment of a Covid-19 Fund in his address to the nation on Friday  to tackle the crisis.
The fund, which will is chaired by  former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, will receive contributions and donations from the public to assist the needy and the vulnerable.
The President further mentioned that he had directed the Controller and Accountant General to pay his next three months’ salaries into the fund.
”We can defeat this virus if we all commit ourselves to respecting all the measures that has been outlined. I am confident that Ghanaians will comply with them and the security services will not have to intervene, with extraordinary means to enforce them,” he added.
Kofata made the donation during the Information Minister’s briefing Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Kofi Asare Brako Abatey, spokesperson for Kofata, who made the donation on behalf of the businessman said the donation is in support of efforts by Government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.
The donation was received by Mr Akwasi Agyeman, Executive Director of Ghana Tourism Authority on behalf of the Government of Ghana.
