Covid-19: Ghana to close all borders for two weeks

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that from Sunday Midnight, all borders in the country whether by land, sea or air will be closed to human traffic for two weeks.

According to him, anybody who comes into the country after Sunday will be quarantined.

He made the statement during his third update on the deadly coronavirus on Saturday evening.

Update

Giving the updates on the number of cases recorded in Ghana, President Akufo-Addo confirmed that although 19 cases have been recorded, one out of them passed away today.

According him, the other 18 persons are doing well while being treated.

He stated that eight of them are in isolation at their homes and are responding to treatment while the rest are also receiving treatment.

Although encouraged at the number of Ghanaians who are adhering to precautionary measures, he urged Ghanaians to comply to the precautionary measures in order to protect themselves from the virus.

 

Meanwhile he assured Ghanaians of his determination to whatever it takes to safeguard the country from the spread of coronavirus.
