Covid-19: Ghana records 229 new cases pushing total cases to 12,193

Ghana has recorded 229 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 12,193, the Director General of Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye has revealed.
Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye made the announcement at the Ministry of Information regular press briefing on coronavirus.
4,326 have recovered whiles number of deaths is pegged at 58. 4 others are, however, critically ill and are on ventilation.
Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye added that current active cases are at 7,813.
Out of the 229 new cases, 70 were recorded in the Ashanti region followed by the Central region with 42 cases and then 34 cases in the Savanna region.
 
Regional breakdown of cases are as follows:
Greater Accra Region – 7,170
Ashanti Region – 2,225
Western Region – 993
Central Region – 694
Volta Region – 274
Upper East Region – 241
Eastern Region – 246
Oti Region – 97
Western North Region – 81
Northern Region – 37
Savannah Region – 35
Upper West Region – 32
Bono East Region – 14
North East Region – 2
Bono Region – 1
Ahafo Region – 1
