Covid-19: Akufo Addo’s cloth for 11th update symbolizes value of education

The cloth the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, wore to address Ghanaians during the 11th national address on COVID-19 symbolizes education.
President Akufo-Addo during the 10th Covid-19 update announced the partial reopening of schools for final year students.
“From Monday, 15th June, 2020, the decision has been taken, after engagement with the Teacher Unions, whose co-operation I salute, to reopen schools and universities to allow for final year junior high, senior high and university students to resume classes ahead of the conduct of their respective exit examinations.”
“Indeed, final year university students are to report to their universities on 15th June; final year senior high school (SHS 3) students, together with SHS 2 Gold Track students, on 22nd June; and final year junior high school (JHS 3) students on 29th June. JHS 3 classes will comprise a maximum of thirty (30) students; SHS classes a maximum of twenty-five (25) students; and University lectures will take place with half the class sizes,” he said.
To complement his message, Akufo Addo, during the 11th Covid-19 address, wore a cloth whose design underlines the value of education as one of the pillars for the development of the society, a message which is in line with the re-opening of schools for final year students in the various universities on Today Monday June 15th, 2020.
“Our intentions is to secure the lives of the nearly 200,000 lives of students and teachers returning to school tomorrow and I appeal to them, to do their part in our COVID-19 fight”, the President said while addressing the public during the 11th national address on COVID-19
He revealed that government cannot afford to let the pandemic limit the chances and survival of the general public.
