For the first time, the National Chief Imam, Sheik Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, will lead a virtual prayer to mark the 2020 Eid-ul-fitr.
This virtual ceremony has become necessary due to the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and government’s directive on social gathering and social distancing.
The virtual event will take place at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) on Sunday at 9:00 am.
In attendance will be the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Some Muslim clerics will also grace the ocassion.
The Chief Imam has since called on Muslims across the country to celebrate the day with their families at home and join in the virtual ceremony on TV.
