CHASS lauds govt's decision to absorb 2020 WASSCE fees

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has lauded government’s decision to absorb the WASSCE fees of the 2020 candidates.
This comes after the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo revealed that government has absorbed the WASSCE fees for all final year students.
The President said this while addressing Ghanaians in the 12th covid-19 update Sunday evening.
“In the history of this country, the government will absorb the WASSCE fees for all SHS final year students”, he said.
Speaking on the development on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, the General Secretary for the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Kwame Owusu Aduomi, says the act will lift financial burden off parents.
“This move by government is worth commending as it will take some financial burdens off the parents. It will also relieve students of emotional and psychological torture of owing money. Sometimes, if you owe fees, you are always under pressure to run or hide whenever you see the teacher in charge. I think this is good news”, he expained.
