Communications Manager for the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), James Lartey, says owner of Mama Gee empire is currently being investigated  for flouting FDA laws.

Elizabeth Torgbor aka Mama Gee, who operates Mama Gee empire sells sex enhancement drugs, and attraction sprays and oils has been arrested by the Food and Drugs Authority together with personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Mama Gee also sells herbal “concoctions” for vaginal douching which tightens the vaginal walls.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Thursday Morning, Communications Manager for the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), James Lartey said the authority upon information from undisclosed sources stormed the premises of Mama Gee in Madina and asked her to stop operations with immediate effect.

He added that the lady in question ignored this warning and continued to sell the drugs which led to her arrest Wednesday.

He cautioned users of the such products to be mindful of their health and think twice when consuming products that can have dire consequences on their health.

“In order for you to manufacture any product, you need to be regulated and registered. For any producer to advertise a product, it needs the approval of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) it does not matter the platform on which it will be advertised…she is selling products that has not been approved and her claims cannot be substantiated, we will investigate and take necessary actions” he added.

He revealed that samples of the drugs have been submitted with the police for laboratory investigations to take place.
