Viewers of BBC’s News at Ten got more than they bargained for on Tuesday night when a topless woman appeared in the background.

Presenter Sophie Raworth was about to talk about England's recent success against South Africa in the cricket when some eagle-eyed viewers noticed a topless woman behind her.

A man wearing headphones appeared to be watching a sex scene on his computer.

A woman removed her top and then a black bra just as the presenter moved on to news of the England cricket team.

Lyndsey Robinson, from Barnsley, posted a clip of the footage on Facebook.

She wrote: “Did anyone else notice news last night on BBC???

“Thought I was seeing things…but just re-wached on iPlayer…nope I definitely saw what I thought I had.”

A TV source told The Sun the incident had “gone down like a lead balloon”.

“It is totally unprofessional. It beggars belief a sex scene should be played live on air,” the source added.

The Mirror reports that the BBC is now investigating.

It comes just days after a music-lover flashed her breasts during a BBC report from a folk festival.

The woman was in the background as BBC Spotlight interviewed a performer at the 63rd Folk Week in Devon.

She subtly appeared to pull her top to one side, exposing a boob live on the programme.
