“Attack on Tema West Municipal Assembly officials cruel” – Nana Ato Arthur

Head of Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, has condemned the attack on officials of the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA).

Assignees of Founder and Leader of Anointed Chapel Palace International, Francis Antwi, popularly known as Reverend Obofour, on Monday November 25, 2019 allegedly brutalized officials of the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) who visited his church in the area to demand for building permit.

Officials of the TWMA were on routine activities in the municipality to inspect building permits, which turned sour.

According to the officials, some irate boys of popular pastor “Obofour” irate attacked them when they stormed the church to demand building permit.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Head of Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, expressed displeasure in the fact that a church can indulge themselves in such barbaric acts.

According Nana Ato Arthur, the Tema West Municipal Assembly had summoned the leaders of the Anointed Chapel Palace International on four conservative times which failed to comply.

“When officials of Tema West Municipal Assembly got to premises of the church, they requested for the work permit of the church which they failed to provide. The officials were then directed to write a notice on the building as usual which resulted in a scuffle leading to the attack of our men,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kwabena Owusu, Protocol Officer for Anointed Chapel Palace International refuted claims that the some members of the church brutalized officials of the Tema West Assembly.

According to Kwabena Owusu, the members of the church only tried to prevent officials of the Tema West Assembly from painting the walls.

“The boys did not brutalize or harm any official from the Tema West Assembly as reported in the media,” he explained.

About 5 people have since been arrested in connection with the attack.
