‘Covid-19 and the Aged’ is a documentary that focuses on the critical needs of older Ghanaians in this pandemic and how they are faring. It highlights the gaps in social protection interventions for older persons and how the Government must bridge the gap.
The 43-minute documentary by Regina Asamoah features nineteen older persons living in Ashaiman and Adenta, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection and a Gerontologist with the Department of Social Work and Centre for Ageing Studies of the University of Ghana, Legon.
It reveals the emotional anxiety older persons are battling with and their expectations of Government in caring for older persons in the country.
The documentary will be premiered on the ‘Big Story’ on Atinka TV at 6:45pm on 29th August, 2020 and repeated on the 31st August, 2020 on ‘Ghana Nie’ at 8:45am.
