Atinka TV News Editor, FS, goes home tomorrow

The final funeral rites for the late Atinka TV’s News Editor, Francis Kwaku, will commence tomorrow Saturday, January 19 2019.

Family, Atinka Media Village staff and sympathizers of the late FS will file pass the remains of the late Francis Sasu at the Love Presbyterian Church in Asofan.

The Family will then proceed to the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Obo-Kwahu in the Eastern Region to bury the mortal remains of the late Francis Sasu.

Thanksgiving service for the late Francis Sasu will be held on Sunday January 20 at the Love Presbyterian Church in Asofan, which will be followed by the final funeral rites at the residence of the deceased at Asofan Rainbow off the old Ofankor Barrier.

Veteran journalist and late Head of News of Atinka Media Village, Francis Sasu, affectionately called FS, passed on in November 2018.
Mr. Sasu, whose journalism career spanned over four decades, died at his residence at Amasaman on Wednesday afternoon hours after visiting the hospital for a checkup.

Edmund Sasu who confirmed the death of his brother, stated that he passed few hours after visiting the Ga North Municipal Hospital at Amasaman for checkup and that his body had been deposited at the Ridge Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Atinka Media Village, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has assured the family of the late news editor, Francis Sasu of its continuous support towards the completion of the deceased unpublished book.

He noted that the management of Atinka Media Village will liaise with the family of the late Francis Sasu, to complete and a publish a book he was working on regarding his work with the former president as presidential reporter for about 18 years.

Managing Director of Atinka Media Village, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, made this statement when the family and the Management of Atinka Media visited the former President Jerry John Rawlings to officially communicate the death and date for the burial of the late News departed news editor.

The late Francis Sasu worked closely with former president Rawlings as the presidential reporter from 1983 to 7th January, 2001. Recounting some of his fondest memories with Francis Sasu, the former president commended him for his hard work for the country especially his duties as a journalist. “He had an affable nature that one could not resist liking. He really worked for the country,” the former president said.
