The board, is to provide leadership and direction to MASLOC.

Speaking at the inauguration of the board, the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, urged boards of the state not to interfere in the day-to-day administration of the various institutions.

He identified best corporate governance as one which has the boards concentrating on forming policies and ensuring that management of the corporations implemented those policies.

Meanwhile, he noted that some boards engaged in the direct administration of the institutions, a situation he said created conflicts in the institutions.

He however, urged the board members to use their experience and expertise to provide the right leadership for the centre.

He also called on them not to only assist people in getting loans, but to also support the centre to provide business advisory services to clients.

"From time to time you should get customers together and teach them how to run their businesses, “he added.
