Assembly Elections: Electorates of Homowo electoral area accuses MP of political interference

Hundreds of electorates in the Homowo electoral area of the Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, have accused the MP of the area Titus Glover for political interference in the forthcoming local assembly elections, with the imposition of his personal aide on the area.

According to the electorates, the activities and show of power by the MP has brought unnecessary tension and bloody attacks in the area.

The agitation by residents in the Homowo electoral area in the Tema East Constituency against the MP for the area Titus Glover, follows last week confusion between the camps of the 2 aspiring candidates for the assemblyman position, which led to the bloody attack on an 18-year-old boy.

The incident has since resulted in the arrest of several persons in the area, a situation residents blame their MP of influencing the police to carry out such an order.

According to some aggrieved residents the MP who also doubles as the deputy transport minister is using his office and connections to impose the incumbent assemblyman for the area Christian Yaw Amoah who happens to be his personal aide on electorates.

They have warned to resist any attempt by their MP to interfere in the December 17 local assembly elections in the area

One of the aspirant Enoch Afutu who was also accused of masterminding last week attack, has denied and called on his supporters to desist from any attack or trouble making.

Meanwhile the Member of Parliament for the area, Titus Glover has denied allegations levelled against him by the electorates, describing them as hollow.
