Akufo-Addo breaks ground for the construction of 40- unit bed District Hospital

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has cut sod for the construction of a 40-bed unit District Hospital in the Kpone Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region.

The sod cutting durbar for the construction of the 40 -unit Kpone District Hospital by the President, who was in the District as part of his Greater Accra regional tour which begun on Sunday the 25th of October, attracted hundreds of party supporters, as well as traditional leaders of the area.

Addressing the durbar, president Akufo-Addo, said even though the Kpone constituency has voted for the NDC for the past decade, his government thought it wise to bring development to the area, with the mindset of ensuring every district gets its fair share of national development.

He charged the chiefs and people of the area, to repay this act of selfless leadership with a resounding vote of victory for the NPP in the December polls.

Deputy health minister, Dr Okoe Boye, said the funding for the District Hospital which comes with the state- of -the- art facilities, has since been secured.

He assured the good people of Kpone, that the project when completed will be a very important asset in the life and history of the area.

Paramount chief of the Kpone Traditional Area, Nii Tetteh Otu II, said he hoped the sod cutting will not just be a campaign gimmick, but will come to fruition.

He also appealed to the president, to help address some developmental issues in the area, as well as the construction of a dormitory for the Kpone community day senior high school.

The 40- unit bed Kpone District, a government of Ghana project, is expected to be completed in the 22 months.
