Akufo-Addo addresses nation tonight as Covid-19 figures rise again

President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will address the nation tonight on the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is expected to throw more light on the reopening of schools, the rise in COVID-19 cases amongst others during his 22nd update.

In his 21st update, the President announced the reopening of schools which generated a lot of debatesl on both traditional and social media with most parents expressing fear over the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country.

A section of the public also suggested that children below class one are made to stay home since they cannot fully take care of themselves.

Despite the apprehensions, the President and the Ghana Education Service have assured parents that the schools have been made safe for students and teachers.

Meanwhile, most students in tertiary institutions have gone back to schools whiles those in basic and senior high schools are yet to go.

The President, may however, respond to some special requests made in connection with the reopening of schools.
