Veteran football administrator and owner of division II football club, King Faisal, Alhaji Kareem Gurusah, has expressed his disgust at the conduct of Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah and has asked  President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo -Addo to sack him.

Speaking to Seth Dadzie on Atinka Total Sports, the outspoken veteran said “The minister must take the large portion of the blame, because he assured all Ghanaians including the President, of bringing  the cup. Meanwhile you were not the coach, you were not part of the playing body, you’ve not played football before, so on what grounds was he giving that assurance? When we played the pre-AFCON friendly games, didn’t he see the results? And upon all this you promised the nation ?

‘The President was deceived into committing the nation’s funds into the AFCON campaign, he lied to the President and he should be sacked.

‘ I’m calling for his sack because he failed us,” angry Grunsah slammed.

The sports minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah assured the President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah and the entire nation that the team was going to deliver the AFCON trophy, pushing government to  tag this year’s AFCON campaign ‘Presidential Project’ with a reported budget of over $15m.

The Black Stars shamefully got eliminated by Tunisia on a 5-4 penalty shootout in the round of 16.

Ghana was hoping to end the 37 years of AFCON trophy drought but was dumped out in the round of 16.
