Residents of Ada Koleudor in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region have been cut off from adjoining towns following Saturday’s heavy downpour.
This morning’s rainfall which lasted through to midday, saw several communities and towns in the capital being flooded. Some communities in Ada East and West were also not spared by the flooding.
However, the worst hit town is Koluedor, a farming community in the Ada West District. The only bridge and access route linking the community to several others has been washed away by the rains.
Traders and farmers have been denied access to the market and their farms. Residents fear the situation could bring some hardship to families whose livelihood depends on their farm.
