Thirty-eight suspected drug peddlers including a woman were arrested in an operation carried by the Tema Regional Police Command on Tuesday, 13 November, 2018, at Waterland in Tema Newtown.
According to the Tema Regional Police PRO, DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwa, the operation, which will be sustained before, during and after the Christmas festivities, is to take on miscreants within the Tema Metropolis and its adjoining surrounding.
Items retrieved from the suspect included; quantities of wrapped dried leaves suspected to be cannabis (Indian hemp), mobile phones and other personal belongings.
The suspects, DSP Darkwa noted will be screened and those found culpable will be arraigned before Court while the dried leaves suspected to be cannabis are being forwarded to the Police Forensic Laboratory for examination.
