1D1F: 10 financial institutions commit GHS4.43 billion

The Deputy Minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, says about 18 factories have been accredited under the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagship One district, One factory programme.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, in a press briefing at the Information Ministry also added that about 50 more factories will be accredited by the end of 2018.

President Akufo-Addo on Friday in August 2017 cut-sod for the commencement of the one-district-one-factory policy at Ekumfi in the Central region.

The programme aims at developing industries in the various districts starting with the factories.

“18 factories have been accredited so far and most of them were visited by President Akufo Addo. For the avoidance of doubts we are uploading videos of these on the Ministry of Information’s social media pages … the list is also available on our Facebook pages. Currently 90,000 beneficiaries have already accepted their postings and we are expecting 10,000 remaining beneficiaries to complete their acceptance within the week,” he added.

According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, some 10 financial institutions have committed about GHS4.43 billion in loanable funds to prospective venture capitalists.

He explained that the principal job creation path of the NPP government is to finally execute programs that aim at stimulating the creation of more economic activity and jobs; like the IDIF program.
