# 12 video: Kweku Baako apologises over BBC gaffe

The editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has apologized for saying that the investigative piece “Number 12” by Anas was a collaborated work between BBC and Tiger Eye PI which is headed by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Kweku Baako had, hitherto, indicated that the latest investigative piece by Anas was a collaborative effort between the Tiger Eye PI and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), however, he says that he is not perfect and that what he thought was the truth was not the truth.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas in interview on Accra based Joy FM also dismissed reports that he had collaborated and was sponsored by the BBC to produce his latest documentary “Number 12”.

Contributing as a panelist on Accra based Peace FM’s Morning Show  Wednesda, he said, “I accept responsibility for what I put out there and if people are offended by it I apologize. I said so because I thought it was the truth not knowing mine was a mistake…” he said.
“…I am not perfect and so I look at my negatives and I reflect on them…Kweku Baako takes full responsibility for what I put out there and I sincerely apologize".

The BBC denied   the claims in a statement: “Contrary to any reports or rumors you may have heard or seen prior to publication stating ‘Number 12’ was a product of a collaborative work by the BBC and the journalist (Anas Aremeyaw Anas) this was not the case. The BBC documentary, ‘Betraying the Game”, broadcast after “Number 12” was first put into the public domain, was an independent and impartial work and a report about Mr. Anas’ investigation. The BBC played no part whatsoever in his investigation and has never sought to suggest otherwise. Mr Anas is not a BBC journalist, we did not work with him during his investigation or commission him to carry out this investigation.”
