Enyimba FC goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has earned a late call-up to replace Adam Kwarasey who has reportedly pulled out of the Ghana Afcon squad after falling ill in camp.
The 31-year-old was part of the Black Stars squad that started the unofficial training session at the St. Aquinas School Park last weekend, but he couldn’t make the cut for Avram Grant’s provisional 26-man squad announced on Monday.
But the former Ashgold goalie has earned a late call-up to replace Kwarasey.
“I received a call yesterday (Tuesday) from Alex Asante (Deputy General Secretary of the GFA) that I should prepare and come to the camp of the Black Stars, because Adam Kwarasey is ill, so he has declined to join the team for the AFCON,”
“I will be travelling to Dubai either today or tomorrow,” Fatau Dauda told Happy FM.
Black Stars are currently embarking on a ten-day camping AT Al Ain ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.
